Animal-Assisted Therapy

Healing happens in relationships—and sometimes, the most powerful connections are nonverbal.

Animal-Assisted Therapy at Loblolly Wellness Collective integrates trained therapy animals into the therapeutic process to support emotional regulation, attachment repair, trauma recovery, and nervous system calming. Animals naturally create a sense of safety, grounding, and connection, helping clients access emotions and experiences that may feel overwhelming or difficult to express through words alone.

This approach is especially supportive for individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, attachment wounds, and emotional dysregulation. Sessions are thoughtfully guided by a licensed clinician, with animals participating intentionally and ethically as co-regulators—not tools.

EMDR

You don’t have to relive the past to heal from it.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy is a research-supported trauma treatment that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer feel overwhelming or intrusive. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation—such as eye movements, tapping, or walking—to activate the brain’s natural healing mechanisms.

At Loblolly Wellness Collective, EMDR is provided through a trauma-informed, attachment-based lens. Sessions are paced intentionally, with a strong emphasis on safety, consent, and nervous system readiness. EMDR may be offered in standard therapy sessions or through extended EMDR Intensives for more focused healing.

Play Therapy

Children communicate through play—therapy meets them there.

Play Therapy is a developmentally appropriate, evidence-based approach that allows children to express emotions, process experiences, and develop coping skills through play rather than words alone. Toys, art, movement, and imagination become tools for healing and growth.

Our clinicians create a safe, supportive environment where children can explore feelings, build emotional regulation, and strengthen confidence at their own pace. Caregiver collaboration is often included to support progress beyond the therapy room.
