Specialized Therapeutic Approaches

Animal-Assisted Therapy at Loblolly involves partnering with our animal team members—including dogs, cats, and horses—to create a safe, non-judgmental space for healing. Animals help lower stress and make it easier for clients to open up. This approach is especially helpful for those who find traditional “office-only” therapy intimidating or those seeking a deeper emotional connection during their sessions.

Nature-Based Therapy moves the therapeutic process outdoors. Whether it’s a mindful walk through the woods or sitting by a stream, we use the sights and rhythms of nature to help ground the nervous system. Integrating the outdoors as a partner in therapy helps lift the spirit and provides a refreshing perspective that is often hard to find indoors.

Absolutely. We often integrate the calming presence of our therapy animals into EMDR sessions. The physical comfort of an animal can provide essential grounding and emotional safety while your brain reprocesses difficult or traumatic memories, making the EMDR experience feel more supported and less overwhelming.

Trauma & EMDR Intensives

While traditional EMDR happens in 60-minute weekly increments, an EMDR Intensive is a focused, accelerated experience. Sessions typically last 3 to 6 hours over a single day or several days. This format helps bypass the “start and stop” of weekly sessions, allowing for deeper processing of trauma, anxiety, or grief in a shorter timeframe. It is ideal for busy professionals or those wanting to make significant progress quickly.

EMDR Intensives
are highly effective for individuals dealing with PTSD, childhood trauma, grief, or specific phobias. If you have a busy schedule, travel for work, or simply want to jumpstart a stalled healing journey, an intensive may be the right fit. We offer a consultation to design a plan tailored to your history and readiness.

Many clients come to us because they’ve made some progress but feel they’ve hit a plateau. Our “eclectic” and holistic approach—combining EMDR Intensives, Nature-Based Therapy, and Animal Connection—is specifically designed to help individuals break through emotional blocks and move from simply “coping” to true growth and reassurance.
