EMDR Intensives

Trauma recovery through focused, restorative EMDR sessions.

Deep, Focused Healing — Without Weekly Therapy

EMDR Intensives offer a concentrated, extended approach to trauma therapy for individuals seeking meaningful progress in a shorter period of time. Rather than meeting for weekly 50–60 minute sessions, intensives provide several hours of focused EMDR work in a supportive, regulated environment—allowing space to move through trauma, emotional blocks, and stuck patterns more efficiently.
This option is ideal for individuals who feel stalled in traditional therapy, have limited availability, are navigating a specific trauma or life transition, or want to prioritize healing without a long-term weekly commitment.

What Are EMDR Intensives?

An EMDR Intensive is a customized therapeutic experience designed to support deeper processing and integration. Intensives typically include:

  • A comprehensive intake and preparation phase
  • Extended EMDR processing sessions (half-day or full-day formats)
  • Nervous system regulation and grounding support
  • Intentional pacing, closure, and integration planning

Each intensive is thoughtfully tailored to the client’s goals, readiness, and capacity, ensuring safety and emotional containment throughout the process.

Who EMDR Intensives Are For?

EMDR Intensives may be a good fit if you:

  • Have experienced trauma, attachment wounds, or distressing life events
  • Feel stuck, overwhelmed, or plateaued in weekly therapy
  • Are managing symptoms related to PTSD, anxiety, depression, or grief
  • Prefer focused, immersive healing work
  • Are already working with another therapist and want supplemental trauma processing

EMDR Intensives can be completed alongside existing therapeutic care and do not require transferring providers.

A Holistic, Trauma-Informed Approach

At Loblolly Wellness Collective, EMDR Intensives are offered through a trauma-informed, holistic lens that prioritizes emotional safety, consent, and nervous system regulation. Sessions are paced intentionally and may incorporate grounding or nature-based practices when appropriate to support regulation and integration.

EMDR Intensives – FAQs

Most insurance plans reimburse only for standard 45–60 minute therapy sessions. EMDR Intensives involve extended, multi-hour sessions and specialized preparation that fall outside of traditional insurance billing structures.

While intensives are a private-pay service, many clients find they are saving time, emotional energy, and money by choosing a focused approach that can reduce the need for prolonged weekly therapy.

For many clients, yes. EMDR Intensives are designed to help clients move through unresolved trauma and stuck patterns more efficiently.

When compared to the cumulative cost of weekly sessions over months or years—as well as missed work, scheduling challenges, and emotional fatigue—many individuals find that intensives offer a practical and cost-effective path to meaningful progress.

Due to the fact EMDR Intensives are catered directly to you, please reach out to us for a consultation to receive an estimated cost of services. Reduced rates are available to first responders and military veterans.

Yes. Discounted rates are available for veterans and first responders as a way to honor service and reduce barriers to care. Please contact us directly to inquire about availability and eligibility.

Insurance typically does not reimburse for EMDR Intensives. However, many clients choose to:

  • Use insurance for ongoing weekly therapy with another provider

  • Supplement that care with an EMDR Intensive for focused trauma processing

This allows clients to benefit from both insurance-covered therapy and intensive trauma work without changing providers.

EMDR Intensives may be appropriate if you:

  • Want focused trauma work without a long-term weekly schedule

  • Have limited availability due to work, caregiving, or travel

  • Are navigating a specific trauma, loss, or life transition

  • Feel ready for deeper trauma processing in a supported environment

A consultation is required to ensure this approach is appropriate and safe for your unique needs.

That’s completely okay. EMDR Intensives are not a one-size-fits-all approach. A consultation allows us to assess readiness, pacing, and whether an intensive or traditional therapy model would be the best fit for your healing journey.

Your care will always be guided by collaboration, consent, and respect for your nervous system.
